"Adrian gave Companion care to my mother for around 2.5 years. Mum had Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. Adrian was always polite and very considerate to mum's needs. He knew that it was important for mum to be engaged in conversations and choices to keep her cognitive processes active. He would encourage her to do simple household tasks to help her to keep active. Adrian is an experienced carer who understands how to care for clients with dementia. Adrian also has excellent house keeping skills and kept mum’s flat clean, polished and tidy. Adrian earned mum's trust and gave her the confidence to socialise with the other residents in the retirement flats, accompanying her to social events in the shared residence lounge. Adrian would arrange and accompany mum to her weekly hair dressing appointments and then to a local cafe each week. he would also accompany her to the local shops or for a walk in gardens of the flats In time we increased mum's care time and relied on Adrian to keep her safe. We had a very good rapport with Adrian, he kept an informative daily log and ensured that she took her medication (8 tablets a day). Adrian has good contacts with other care givers and found mum an excellent lady to help mum with personal care 1 hour a week for her bath time. milk. We gave Adrian petty cash for household and personal items for mum and he kept accurate receipts. I live 80 miles from my mother so we were very reliant on Adrian during the Covid Epidemic. Adrian's communication skills are excellent. Adrian helped mum to continue living independently with a good happy quality of life for the last few years of her life. We were very lucky to have him as mum’s carer."
